Please contact Dr. Christian Hof (christian.hof@senckenberg.de) in case you need any further information.
*Postdoctoral Researcher*
The successful applicant will investigate potential futures for the
global biodiversity of vertebrates under different climate and land-use change scenarios. He/she will employ cutting-edge species distribution and macroecological diversity modelling to produce global projections of biodiversity and species vulnerability assessments. The position is part of the project “BioScen1point5”, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
Your profile:
– PhD degree in ecology, biogeography or a related field, preferably
with a focus on large-scale analyses of species distributions, species
richness, phylogenetic and/or functional diversity
– Research interests in the fields of macroecology and global change
ecology, creativity and enthusiasm for scientific work
– Proficiency in species distribution modelling, advanced statistical
analyses with R and in handling large databases of environmental and distribution data
– Excellent written and oral communication skills in English (knowledge of German is not mandatory, but beneficial)
– Documented ability to publish in international journals
– Ability to work in a team and under the pressure of limited time resources
